Commitment speaks of integrity.
Integrity says;
Psalms 15:1-5
Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
The word integrity is defined as; the quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to high moral principles or professional standards. Thus we can clearly see that a person who has integrity keeps their commitments and lives out of set boundaries they have established due to their high standard of loyalty to a person or cause. The above scripture gives us insight concerning a person that walks or lives uprightly, one who does right toward self and others and speaks truth in his heart is the same as he who swears to his own hurt but will not change. What that is saying is a committed person will never go back on his word even if it means they will suffer hurt or inconvenience by the promise they gave.
