Psalms 23: 4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod
and thy staff they comfort me.
Have you ever been
on a dark highway where there were no other lights but your headlights
going before you? If you look in your rear-view mirror, you'll see a
path of darkness behind you. Your tail lights were not placed on your
car to provide light for you to see the road behind you, they only aid
people behind you to see you as they approach you.
God
never gave us light to look backward, only light to go forward. If you
glance to the left and to the right out of your car windows as you drive
forward you'll notice the fields are dark as well. Remember to keep
your focus and sight on the light before you. Darkness can be
intriguing, mystical, alluring and sometimes quite hypnotic. Never allow
darkness to draw you in through mere curiosity.
Night
travel requires tremendous concentration because your vision is limited
to where the light shines. The world is dark and getting darker, but
remember there is light before you. So follow God's light and appreciate
and cherish His rod and staff that bring comfort to you.
